How many teeth does the entire span of 10 hash marks measure up to?
The distance between 2 teeth on Bseries cam gears is 10.6 camshaft degrees, or 5.3 crank degrees, since the cams spin twice for every one revolution of the crank. 34 teeth on cam gears and 17 teeth on crank gear. Time to do some measuring.

You could have figured this out yourself man. Think!

yea.. OOOORRRR someone should know off the top of their head... im guessing im not the first person to use these, that's all.

thanks anyway though, still a cool way of finding the information out for myself.. I'll give you that much

One would think with all these post's and all these people's experiences with probably these exact same cam gears that they would just be able to tell me real quick, just figured someone would say "hey, ive used those and i happen to know" that's all

I emailed buddy club.. no response so i figured someone on here would help me out real quick since they might know off hand

Let me correct myself, 1 cam degree = 2 crank degrees. I had that backwards. I blame it on the 4 bbers I had at a bbq yesterday
Judging from the pics, you have almost a full tooth of adjustment on the gears which means 10 degrees of cam adjustment, and 20 degrees in relation to the crank.
So to back up ALL MOTOR yes, 1 hash mark = 1 cam degree/2 crank degrees.

Just to clarify for anyone reading this, the engine (crankshaft) rotates twice for every one revolution of the camshaft(s). So "if" 2 teeth on B series cam gears = 10.6 cam degrees, that would actually equal 21.2 crank degrees.

I already clarified that a few posts back. I was half in the bag when I first responded. Sober me made the correction.
Also, its the distance between any 2 teeth, I.e. one tooth of timing.

There's no "if".
360 degrees divided by 34 teeth on Bseries cam gears = ~10.6 degrees per tooth separation. Simple as that. There's 17 teeth on the oil pump drive gear. This means 21.2 degrees per tooth separation. (360/17=~21.2)

that's it, that's it... that's all that needed to be said.

I appreciate that all motor, thanks

From what I've gathered you're more than just a little experienced so ill take your word for the cam gears not being ideal and ill pick up another set

What cam gears do you recommend all motor? thanks

AEM 5 bolt, skunk2 pro series gears, bisimoto or Golden eagle..

Those gears are more safe and accurate and better designed, i used buddy clubs through 3 sets of cams, and they constantly needed to be checked about 3 times a week..dunno why, maybe it was the use of Allen screws rather then something more proven..

Since then i've taken all gears that i've used and replaced their bolts with something alittle longer, and stronger..

sounds good, thanks for the advise. If you had to chose your favorite pair and by favorite I mean the pair you would consider to be the strongest and safest which pair would it be? thanks

Bisimoto. No slip design. IMPOSSIBLE to slip. No other gears will ever go on my personal builds, nor will I ever recommend another brand to anyone else.

Btw, if you used your "brain" that we've all been given, you could have easily figured out your cam gear issue. We've been all given the same brain here. No offense, its just irritating. I know you have the same mental capacity as I do if you were able to find this forum.

What I was trying to clarify was that the crankshaft rotates twice for every single rotation of the camshaft. That wasn't stated in your correction even though the rest of it was. I put "if" in quotes because I didn't personally check your math on the cam gear teeth/degrees and the numbers I gave (21.2) were a corrected version of the 5.3 you listed, so I was making an assumption based off of the information you gave. I was just trying to use my brain as you suggested.
