Hey Guys,

Hoping you can help me out with some common issues to the civic that will help me pinpoint my issue. I have a 2000 EX and it has a rumbling in the drive line somewhere. I replaced the drivers side bearing and that was not it. It sounds like it is coming from the transmission area more than the hub. I took the Passenger side hub off and examined it and feel no "flat spots" in the bearing and there was no play at all. It seemed like a good bearing. There does seem to be some noise in the trans-axle as I turn the axle it self without the spindle of the axle in the shaft. I see that there is a differential bearing listed for this car and I was wondering what the next most likely scenario is. The noise is not like the normal bearing noise where with a hard turn to one side it quiets and to opposite it gets louder, it is the same no matter what side you turn. It also doesn't change with the shifting of gears but is dictated by the speed of the vehicle. the faster the louder. Any ideas or thoughts?

If you have a manual transmission, does the noise go away with the clutch pedal pushed down?

 

It is a manual and No it is there the whole time (not the "throw out Bearing")
