What is the model of the 5-speed transmission that comes with 92-95 CX Hatches?

The engine is a D15B8 (8V, SOHC, non-VTEC, ~70hp).

S20, only thing is all '92 - '95 Civic transmissions are stamped S20. The one you're looking for comes in all '92 - '95 CX/VX models.

Most people want to get rid of these things, they're the worst D-series transmission as far as acceleration is concerned. They do get decent mileage due to their long gearing though.

 

true that they are stickered S20. but what your looking for is the stamp near the fill plug and passenger side axle area. it will either be stamped AOOO or BOOO. AOOO is dx,lx,cx,vx. BOOO is ex and si model with sohc engines (large bearing short gears)

 

the d1b8 uses a DX/LX trans...not the cx/vx trans -- VX/CX/DX ALL USE a000

 

The problem with that is the CX/VX transmissions are geared longer than the DX/LX transmissions, yet both are stamped exactly the same.

You do realize the D15B8 is the CX engine right?
