Default do i need a knock sensor for my lsv

hello everyone. i just wanted to know if i need a knock sensor for my car i have a 92 teg and im dropping in a lsv(pr3 head and a b18b block). i took the motor out of a 90 teg and it didnt have a knock sensor hooked up. so do i need one or car i run my car with out one. my ecu is a p28 with a b16 base map and im using ls auto harness. any help would be great

no, you dont, disable it in your tuning software.

The P28 cannot control a knock sensor anyways so you will HAVE to disable it in your tuning software.

i dont have a tuning software i bought a p28 with a b16 base map already . but i have a chip from my obd0 ecu . could i use that chip i know that one is not programed for a knock sensor.

If you have a p28 ecu, then the knock sensor is already disabled in the ecu as the p28 doesn't have a knock board in it.

You can't use a chip from an obd0 ecu in an obd1 ecu, so don't even try it.

Your best bet would be to have the car dyno tuned or to order a basemap for the lsv setup.

You may order a 28 pin eprom chip basemap from our website

& drop it into the ecu your self.
