Default 97 Civic Ex p1508 cel. replaced iacv. still wont work!

Out of the blue my idle was so bad and when it starts it would shut down then i replaced the IACV with a brand new one. Now it got a bit better but it idles still pretty weird and when i drive it i would full gas it and it will not pick up. I had a p1508 code and i researched it but didnt come with much. I cleared the code and try to drive it around but i cant seem to go anywhere. it will just die and when i start the car it doesnt sound like it starts ALL THE WAY . the motor sounds weak and i checked a lot around the motor. Sometimes i would try to keep driving it and then the temp gauge goes high and when i would turn off the car you can hear the coolant running. idk if its bad or not but i need help

Ignore P1508 until you solve the overheating problem.

IDK how else to explain it better. what else do you want to know?

RonJ i kinda over heated it before and i had no coolant so i put in more and bleed it...but its still giving me problems. it has full coolant inside.

Does the lower radiator hose remain cool when the engine overheats?

is it burning oil might of blown the hg when it overheated and or warped the head. Are you throwing any other codes? Thermo could be sticking, Fan relay could be going bad.

try bleeding the cooling system

start your car when cold, put the heat on max. pop the radiator cap and keep topping it off with coolant, then bleed it with the bleeder nipple valve on the engine block some where by the top radiator hose follow it you will see it and unplug the plug under the radiator for bleeding.
bleed it until you see a stream line of coolant. release all the trapped air in the system

also, like stated above your thermostat might be bad, causing it not to open and overheating

Ron, the lower hose is really hot after i shut down the car

Hot2Dth On another obd2 reader i got a code for exhaust manifold pressure or something and TPS... but now on this one its just giving me the p1508

Blacked ek. That can probably be the problem..the thermostat isnt opening up because i did what you say and the fan never came on..and the bleeder nipple valve is on the d16y8??
