Default What clutch do I need to buy?

I am going to be buying an aftermarket clutch for my vehicle soon, most likely an act. I have a d16z6 w/ a crx si transmission. Do I need to buy the clutch for the transmission, the engine, or am I going to have to buy seperate peices from both. A couple members on this board said that act makes a great clutch, does anyone have any other suggestions/comments? Thanks

You will need to buy the clutch for the transmission.

You need to buy the clutch for the flywheel that you are using. The D16a6(SI) and the D16z6 use different size clutches. If the tranny is a 89-91 it will work with any of these clutches.

This is partly true. Here is a breakdown of the various clutches from 88-01

1988 21 spline 190mm
1989 20 spline 200mm
1990+ 20 spline 210mm

I hope this helps.

If you are using the Z6 flywheel, use the Z6 clutch disk and pressure plate, but get a throwout bearing for your Si tranny. When I had my D16Y8 going, I used a 96 clutch disk and pressure plate with my Y8 flywheel.

yes the 90-91 are 212mm
if you have a 88 tranny buy a 90-91 si pressure plate and flywheel along witha 86-89 accord disc, this will bump up your clutch size from 190mm to 212mm, big difference thats what i did and i like it...
