Hey, I have a 95 civic 2-door EG with a d16z6 motor. I just bought Edelbrock Pro-Flo 1 piece headers, and am about to buy a Skunk2 Mega Power R exhaust system. My current exhaust is all stock components, but I do not have a catalytic converter in the system. It also does not fit properly underneath the car; the header flange and exhaust pipe flange bolt holes do not line up, it does not line up properly with stock hanging points, and it does not reach out to the back of the car.

Q1. For the after-market parts to not have the same problems, do I need to buy a catalytic converter or test-pipe to install between the headers and exhaust pipe??

Also, if I do then I will be buying the Blox 2.5'' test-pipe to put in between. If I dont the header also ends with a 2.5'' diameter pipe at the flange. The Skunk2 exhaust system is a 70mm or 2.75'' diameter pipe at the fange which will connect to the header or test pipe.

Q2. Will the Skunk2 exhaust pipe which is 2.75'' at the flange fit and bolt up with the Edelbrock or Blox 2.5'' diameter pipe at the flange? Or should I buy the Skunk2 Mega Power Exhaust system that is 60mm or 2.35" at the flange?

 

you need a cat or test pipe and use the other parts you already have . i would love to see a picture of your exhaust

 

thanks for the help, the exhaust how its rigged now? or when i get all the aftermarket parts in? i still need to figure out which size pipes i need to match the 2.50'' test-pipe

I would like to see the pics of it now as well as i am having exhaust issues and gonna have to customize a cat back system to fit an ebay cat to the headers.. UGHH...

 

thanks for the help, as soon as i get the up in the air again i'll take some pictures of the ghetto rigged exhaust i got on now, and pics of the finished project...the edelbrock headers were discontinued so i got DC Sports 4-1 headers instead
