Won't go in gear while car running
So while I was out the other evening, no where near my home of course, I come to a stop sign... try to put my car in first after the stop and it will not go in gear... tried it several times, and it will not go in any gear.
When I turn off the car, it would go into every gear smooth.... I started the car while it was in gear, and it made a grinding sound as if you were driving and grinded a gear miss shifting...
Has anyone ever had this problem? Prior to this, I had no problems with the tranny... Its a b-series and it has a 4 puck clutch...
Any help would be great as I've been without my car for over a week now!!

Last time this happened to me was when I was an idiot with a junk D series tranny and beat it so bad I ruined my tranny, but Im sure that's not the case with you so like others said check your master cylinder for fluid first.
is it very hard to step on the pedal when running? i had kind of the same problem once. it ended up being a spring in my clutch disk popped out and wasnt letting the pressure plate flex.

Could be a synchronizer.. Had one in second and thrid gear go out in my mustang and it threw off my whole gearing of the tranny. Long story short, i spent 6 hours rebuilding that T5...
I just had this exact issue! Except it was only hard to step on the pedal sometimse...
A new clutch may be in your future... This happens to me, and it was a spring on the clutch disc that popped out. Shifted fine when it wasn't running, and the pedal was easy, but as soon as you started it up you couldn't get it in gear.
Kind of saying the same thing, but your clutch isn't disengaging. Could be your slave cylinder, could be an issue with the clutch itself. All you said is that you have a b-series trans..... Which one? In the thread tags I see 92, integra, and ls. Isn't that a cable trans? Kind of far fetched, but maybe the cable broke. If it is a hydro clutch, have someone look at your slave cylinder while you are stepping on the clutch. If you can see the piston or the slave pushing the clutch fork, it would be your clutch.
clutch... clutch... clutch... clutch... clutch.
Do not look too far into it. Start by checking the fluid in the resivoir. Then pull the transmission

Same here. New clutch kit fixed the issue.
Sorry... Its a hydro tranny.... I guess Im going to just get a clutch... and make it easy... I dont have time for this being parked anymore... lol
