OBD1 TO OBD2 H22 IN A EK
A little backround live in Maryland, I have a Honda Civic 98 Hatchback with a H22 swap. I currently have a obd1 to obd2 jumper and I since I have that setup the obd2 plug in does not except readings. The question I am trying to ask is what is needed to pass emissions do I need to get a obd2 ecu, will that work? Thanks for any help or advice you guys can give me in this matter.
With Maryland. If your car comes factory OBD2 u wont get the sniffer test. THey will hook it up to diagnostics and scan it. If u have it OBD1 on a OBD2 car they will say u altered emissions and will probably fail you.
You'll need a USDM '96 (all other years have an immobilizer) OBD2 ECU, and you'll need to add a secondary O2 sensor, perform the CKF trick, and IIRC as far as H-series engines go distributors are completely different between OBD1 and OBD2 (you might want to look into that one a little closer though, I almost never deal with H/F-series.
