Well, if you use flat black paint, then the finish will be flat. If you put a flat clear on something, then it will also be flat....

Are you wanting to paint a gloss finish on your car and then wet sand to get a flat finish? That would be a terrible idea FYI.

i bought a gallon of paint for 100 bucks, gun for 30 at walmart, borrowed an air compressor, some rattle can spray primer and sandpaper. did my f100 for 150 and it looked tons better than rattle can job.

Save the money and at least half *** it right

The only thing about flat spray paint is that it stains very easily. Dust and mud, things like that tend to stick to it very badly and are very difficult to remove.

/\/\ Yes, it is very soft and absorbent. Trying to wash and scrub it creates permanent imperfections in the paint. Even a fingernail can do permanent damage to it.

I wish people wouldn't do this

Have you tried to scrub the bugs from the front of it? That rattle can oil-based paint is just so soft when it dries (especially flat) that it would be amazing for a year old paint job exposed to the elements to still be in good shape. Do you remember what you used?

rustoleum flat black, & simple soap and water gets the bugs off.
