Im about to purchase a used exhaust from another fellow honda-tech member who I would like to mention is extremely nice and cooperative. It is actually the tanabe racing medallion. This guy has it welded on his type r but now it selling me the unit. My question is, when he gets it cut and then I get it welded back on again, will it affect the performance or make the exhaust faulty, worn, or less productive in any way? I dont think it should but what are peoples opinions and has anyone experienced this situation. All comments are appreciated. Thanks!

 

It really depends on who is welding it back together.

 

most likely it will have to be butt welded which if the person is lazy can come out really weak and shitty...

if done right..it will last a long time and have no restrictions at all

It means there is no overlapping of the two pipes I believe. They "butt" up to each other.
