ok i have this 2000 crx lx. its a b20 engine and i have this sensor that was RTV'd in place. its located 6inches from the drivers side strut tower on the drivers side if you were looking under the hood facing the driver, in the intake manifold, well needless to say it fell apart on me and i have no idea what the proper nomenclature or "name" if you will that sensor has. the sensor is broke in half so it cannot be rigged back together. it has 2 pins on the inside of the connector and threads in to the intake manifold for the #1 cylnder. im not sure what this thing is but before i found out that it was crapped together, it got somewhere near 26 MPG and not i get at best 19 MPG. i am taking a road trip soon and need to get this thing running well.

can any one help on identifying what kind of sensor it is?

can you take a pic for us? That would really help. Sounds like it's the intake air temp sensor.

 

I too think that its the intake air temp sensor.
