Help: Werring Sound
there is a werring sound in my Dad's Accord (2000 2DR 4cyl 5 spd). We thought it might have been the tires rolling on the indicator bars (tires were getting low on tread) so we replaced the tires. But the sound persists. It werrs when you are moving and it gets louder the faster you go. But it doesn't have anything to do with the engine we think because when you are parked and you rev the engine the sound isn't there. What could it be? We were thinking possibly a cv joint or maybe transmission?
Any ideas would be greatly appreciated!
TIA

could be a wheel bearing, is it a different sound in turns than when going straight.
I have the same sound coming from my car, well I described mine as more of a low grinding humm. bad thing is that when I replaced my wheel bearing it did not go away. unfortuneately I have not found the problem, so I can't help too much more.
i doubt it is a brake issue, but it could be.
details of my problem are here, hth...

Sounds like a bearing. Pitch the car back and forth as you are driving. If the noise canges from side to side, most likely it's a bearing. If you are turning to the left and it is louder, it's the right side bearing and visa versa. Good luck.
Edit;
If you had the transmission fluid changed somewhere, check to make sure that they put Honda MTF fluid in it. If they put 80-90 in it (like some of the "quick lube" places do), they'll be buying you a transmission overhaul. Internal transmission noise.

seems to me it's the same sound as you are having, although I'm not too sure if it alters if you turn either way, I'll have to take it for a drive when my Dad gets home. Yes it still should be under warranty, so hopefully Honda can fix it for free
so my Dad took in the Accord today to the Honda dealership and the tech said it was the wheel bearing. so they had to order the part. the part should come in about 10 days or so.
