I am in the market for an IGN box for my new setup. I have my eyes on the new MSD digital 6A box. PN 6201. Will it hang with 30Ish PSI. I dont need alot of features because I can do everything else with the ECU. Was thinking about stepping it up to a digital 7 box, but if the 6a will be sifficient then Ill save some $$ what setup do you have?

Most people are going to tell you that the M&W stuff is the best. It has a big advantage in eliminating the ignitor. Maybe someday I will make the switch, but for right now I run a MSD Digital 6 Plus with HVC-II Coil. OEM Dizzy, OEM wires, and NGK Plugs. Never had an issue.

As a sidenote, my car is a high 10 at best, so maybe as the power gets turned up my opinion will change.

I was overheating ignitors at 800+ on a msd digital 6 plus.

 

I made 700+ on pure stock ignition, but I will be buying pro 10 ASAP. Spark plug gap was like .015 with room to go.

 

Not to threadjack but if I were to change from just a modded dizzy using an msd blaster coil to running the MW pro10 what all do I need to change. Can the MW be used with the msd coil. I see most using the crane.

 

Yes but you have to use the "7 series coil" which is the big red one.Im selling my Pro 10 and MSD coil.Pm me if anyone is interested...

M&W Pro10 T1 kit when I was on Hondata, now M&W Pro Drag4.. Get the Pro10, you wont regret it.

 

6al, blaster ss. 35 psi. never any issues, other than the 7 year old rotor seizing to my old dizzy.

 

M&W Pro Drag 4.We've had multiple issues over heating the ignitor M&W may be pricy but,well worth all the money and headaches

 

Please god please if you must go with an MSD (mostly sucks dick) don't go with an analog box.

That is a good box, my buddy just bought the MSD digital 6 and got it installed last night. He was breaking up bad before hand and swapped the MSD iginiton in with new plugs and took care of all the brake up.
