Icon2 After Market Exhaust!!!

alrighty....just had a lil question over here, we all know that skunk2 has 3 sizes of exhausts...60mm, 70mm, and 76mm.....now heres the trick....if you plan on keeping ur car without a turbo or supercharger, which one would u recommend....basically i prefer to keep my car all motor...don't ask why...other then that...whats a good (not too cheap or expensive) brand for racing headers?? (stainless steel)

76 all the way.
they're dynos of 3in on stock cars with an increase in performance.
just get some resonators in there somewhere or it'll be loud.

what do you consider expensive? to me you just gave a 500-1k range.

if you go with the 76mm get the engine tuned. also ditch that SRI for a cold air.

i dont really wanna spend more than 800 on a exhaust lol...then again the 76mm is like 700 and 70mm is 600...around that ......but like i said, im just worried that the 70mm and 76mm skunk2 might take hp from my car...i hear it does due to the size and lets out too much air.... rightnow i have a AEM SRI....i wanna get rid of that B*#*H....whats a good one u guys recommend ???

personally custom build your exhuast. i have a 2.5" vibrant with a res, cat, and muffler for under 500. it'll be a little more now with stupid gas prices but still alot under 7 bills.

the CAI and SRI debate is dumb. it never ends and either one is a 1-3% gain. and it's been proven a tuned length(ends up being SRI) intake beats out ALL other SRI or CAIs except for AEM v2. and be my guest paying 200 for a pipe with a filter.
that being said i like my secret weapon SRI.
always wondered about the dual piping it uses.

The name stamped on the exhaust piping means nothing for performance. True mandrel bent piping is true mandrel bent piping no matter whose name is stamped on it. Try kteller for your exhaust piping needs. As for size, if performance is your only concern, go for 3 inch. Have a resonator or two welded in as well. Now if sound levels are an issue in your area, 2.5 inch may better suit you. As for a header, for a quality piece you're looking at $500-1000 dollars. There are knockoffs of about every well designed header out there that will yield about 99% of the performance of the higher end headers, but be prepared for cracked welds and diminishing surface finishes on them over time.

That's where the price difference really comes into play: quality, QA, and R&D. The knockoffs capitalize on R&D but will always lack the quality, QA, and customer support due to their mass production.
