I have a 2001 bmxa automatic that I just put new clutches in. Got the car all back together and it feels like in Park the clutches arent being relseased, when car is in reverse it wont move (when front wheels in air tires rotate backwards for a bout 1/2 second then stop, like somone pressed the brakes, neutral acts like 1st gear, car will move but not shift out of first gear when Neutral is selected, car drives perfect in the rest of the gears. wondering if there is a sensor that is used when car is in park, reverse and neutral. Any help would be great. There are codes but I dont have a scanner. Thanks.

 

ok got a scanner code is for the TPS sensor so that is not it. It almost feels like that 1st gear clutch is not releasing. Anyone know what controls the fluid to the 1st gear clutch pack?

 

I have the exact same issue, has any one found a possible solution for this? than ks in advance

 

It ended up being that the nut on 1st gear clutch pack was over torqued not letting the clutch pack release. I took it back out, set the torque to 55 ft lbs and havent had a problem since.
