Default D16a6 in to non-si '90 Civic hatch.

I have been working on a '90 Civic Si hatchback for about 7-8 months now, there was a LOT wrong with it and it still needs some work. This doesn't include the fact the entire interior had to be gutted, and it is in a rattlecan primer paintjob.

Yesterday I bought a pretty clean and 100% complete '90 Civic hatch non-si 5spd with a motor that consumes a ton of oil. I'm debating on swapping over all my new parts and mods to this car instead, as well as my Si running gear. It's tan, but there doesn't look to be any rust or other painfully noticeable damage to the exterior. It would be a great host for all the crap I bought for the Si, and in the long would would give me a lot less headaches.

So what kind of work am I looking at to drop the d16a6 + harness + trans + ecu out of my Si in to the DX? Would it all be plug-and-play?

And for those that think I should finish the Si instead...it was a heap, it needs a little body work, it needs a paint job, it needs an interior, I fixed most of the wiring hackjobs but I'm sure some still remain, and most of the stuff that made it an Si was pulled/swapped by the previous owner. If it weren't for the gauges and the motor, it would look and taste like a non-si hatch...so I wouldn't lose much sleep over it.

only modifications you would have to do is to convert your stock dx harness to mpfi...motor,tranny and ecu is all swap and go...!!!

Then engine, trans, and ecu will pop right in where the old stuff was... the harness will be a bit of a pain, but as long as you dont start cutting things before you plan it all out, it will be do-able. Go ahead and put the Si suspension and brakes onto the DX too... you'll have a much better end result!

So what exactly do I need to do to make the si engine harness plug in to the non-si car? Is there a decent walkthrough around for this?

So according to that, I have all the necessary parts...just need to pull them out of the Si, most of which will come out with the motor. Beyond that is just a little wiring, and the installation of the resistor box. That ain't so bad.

Sweet, thanks man.

Now that I got the car home, I'm really leaning towards swapping all my stuff over to it. It's a NICE car, just runs like ****.
