Dose After Market Steering Wheel affect insurance?
someone just told me that i need to let my insurance company know that i am using an non-srs steering wheel instead of the stock one....cuz the insurance may not insure me if they find out... is it true? anyone here changed the steering wheel and have no problems with the insurance company?
don't tell them. For every safty item on the car you get insurance deductables. Things such as driver and passenger airbags, alarms, lojack, window ecthing, rollrage, driving school, ever the club help lower your insurance. Now if you car has an airbag and your recieving money off for this and you take out that airbag the insurance now goes up cause your minus that safty item. I'd just go with the JDM SRS or better yet don't let your insurance company know and pray you don't get in an accident
If your car isnt raced a lot, i dont think its really worth the hassle. About what he said i would just get the JDM SRS, even though its around 500, it's better than all the risks/worries/problems involved with doing non SRS for a car that isn't tracked much.
