change fuel pump?
I've been searching and there is mixed results on whether the fuel pump can be changed with the access panel or dropping the tank. which is true?? please help.. mahalo

I know for a fact the 3rd gen's can be changed without dropping the tank, panel in the trunk...bam, done in less than 20 min...spend more time cleaning out the trunk and putting everything back in.

that's the sending unit, you will have to drop the tank to replace pump. I just put a new tank in my 92 wagon last week, not to hard took me 1.5 hrs.
