I noticed that my power windows or locks don't work when the drivers door is open, is this normal? I have a 97 civic hatch with the power window conversion. They work fine when the door is closed but don't work at all when it is open. Just trying to find out if this is normal or if I have a problem that I need to fix.

 

Depends on how the pw were installed... We can't tell you because we didnt install it. My guess would be the way you wired it, the power is cut off when the ajar door sensor is activated...

 

or the wire's in your floor harness are starting to break . look on the inside of the plug that goes into the door . the harness i got had 14 broken wire's out of like 17 .

 

The wire harness that runs between the door and cabin is the prime suspect.

 

I have a 95 EG hatch I installed pw and I can roll down the windows with the door open

 

ok, I will have to inspect the wire harness.
