Reference: Integra Power Steering Rack & Subframe Into EK
I recently finished the entire swap of the subframe AND rack. Here's a parts list and some helpful hints. The benefit is the quicker rack of 16.1:1 versus the EK 17.7:1.
Note: All of this went into a 1999 Honda Civic 2DR (with B-Series Motor).
You need:
94-01 Integra Power Steering Rack (they are all the same).
94-01 Integra / 92-95 Civic Power Front Subframe
- Make sure if you get the 92-95 Civic Subframe that it is from a power steering model.
98-01 Integra Power Steering High Pressure Feed Hose
- I have a B-Series pump, so this line worked no problem. The main concern is the fitting on the p/s pump and the overall length.
94-01 Rear "T" Bracket
- The 99-00 Si one is too short and will NOT reach.
94-01 Integra / 92-95 Civic Front Lower Control Arms & Compliance Bushings
94-01 Integra Rack Grommet (that goes between the firewall and the rack).
You need ALL of the bolts for the compliance bushings from EG / DC, on BOTH sides.
You need all four subframe bolts from EG / DC, including the two front (14x120) and the two rear (14x100).
Things you can re-use:
- You can keep your stock "EK" knuckles
- You can keep your stock "EK" low pressure return line, in fact it fits perfectly onto the integra rack and loops right below the alternator.
- You can use EITHER integra or "EK" outter AND inner tie rods, they are interchangable.
- You can use ANY EG / DC / EK shock forks, EXCEPT the 99-00 Si as they as wider where they meet the LCA.
- You can keep your "EK" steering joint connecting the rack AND the column.
General Notes:
Disconnect the rear through bolt for the rear mount and drop the mount with the rack, THEN do the T bracket.
Take off the LCAs, then remove the subframe. Likewise, install the subframe first and the LCA separate. It makes life MUCH easier.
Any questions, feel free to PM me.

Bringing this back form the dead.
I know this uses the DC rear trans bracket, but do you use an DC rear engine mount or an EK rear engine mount with this setup and a B motor?

I did the same, haven't a few years ago, still haven't driven the car on the road since then but in the yard it seemed a lot quicker. You just think it steered like a school bus before though. I'm currently driving a '95 CX with manual rack, so many turns...
Great information!
Im currently doing a 5 lug swap on my K20 ek with ekk2 mounts and eg subframe/EG manual rack. I'm curious as to which sway bar you guys are running on these EG/DC subframe cars. I plan on using ITR Front LCA's with my EG subframe and manual rack. Should I go ITR front sway bar and end links, or something that applies to EK? Thanks for all of your help!
