CRX SI FAIL!!!!
hello honda-tech, i have an 89 crx si and it was working fine then just out of the blue i was driving in town and it would die.. out of no where.. driving like every normal person... it does it on the highway as well.. it used to kick back up but now it doesnt but it will still start.. so what should i check for? its not the alternator or anything with the spark. i beleive its something with the fuel system..has anyone experienced this? any advice is appreciated. thanks.
An easy way to tell if its the fuel pump is to turn off the radio and all sound devices you may have put the key in turn it to the on pos and wait for a slight wine very faint that is the fuel pump not working
you can also check the screen on the fuel pump its self but removeing the rear covers or pockets normally where the back seat would be remove those panels then remove the silver cover with 3 phillips screws and wire comeing out of it that will get you to the top of the fuel tank remove the plastic nut and pull out the white lookn submarine thing and look for a gold screen they get pluged sometime

yes if you take that off you can see the top of the tank the plastic nut on the top is how you can get to the pump easily belive me ive done it go try it for your self if you dont belive me it will work
I'm not saying that I dont believe you. Im just saying that you can't even see the pump even if you take that plastic thing off. I have my tank off at the moment and the pump is more towards the back of the trunk. It's different locations for the older cars aren't they? I know for the 92-95 civics, the fuel pump is under the little cover with the three Philips screws. But anyways, hope the op gets his car started. And goodluck.
