"Good" brakes screeching
First, my standard disclosure: I must warn you that I'm a newbie to the site and restoring/modifying my own vehicle. You don't necessarily have to go easy on me, just know that, although I'm a sponge for learning thing about and what to do with my car, I'm not as knowledgable as most of yall are. Now on to my issue...
My brakes have been squealing for some time, so I had someone look at them. Apparently, there's plenty of brake pad. I was told that it's the powder coming off the brakes that's causing the screeching sound. Now I'm noticing that when I apply the brakes sometimes, it feels like grinding is starting to form. I saw for myself that there was plenty of brake pad, so I'd like to know yall's thoughts on what the problem could be. Maybe there's another route I should take that I'm not hearing about elsewhere....

I have no clue. Guess I need to crawl under the car and find out.
This past weekend, one of my Prelude friends rode with me to the movies, and he said I need to have the rotors turned. I'll have that done soon, so I'll ask whoever does it about the brand and type, as well as the squealing.

Why dose he believe the motors need turned. When dose the noise happen all the time or just braking. It's it a high pitch squeal or dose it sound like metal on a chalk board?
Rotors don't cause squeaking. It's the indicator tab on the pad possibly or the pad is just not that great. Get good pads that aren't known for squeaking and you'll be fine.
"I saw for myself that there was plenty of brake pad." Does this mean that you looked at inner and outer? If you got a good look, than you should also know about the indicator tab and rotors. Make sure pads are wearing evenly and that the caliper is not hanging up and wearing off one pad.

OP, if it isn't the squealer, verify you have adequate anti-squeal between the pad and backing plate, and then re-bed the pads to the rotors.

The sound is a high-pitched squeal and only happens when I brake.
