Default Mile High Colorado Cars getting ready

This week was a week of firsts for a few Colorado cars! two cars broke into the 9's today, so congrats to pfi_nayr_one and the Boyds. ill let Nayr chime in about his car. he was having head gasket troubles and still ran that time lol.

Nayr:
9.932@155
In Car Video
Out of Car Video
751hp
84mm sleeved gsr
stock cams and valves
supertech springs and retainers
BW S372
PFI manifold
Spearco water to air IC
stock LS trans
DSS axles
24.5x9 MT's
Q16, tuned with Hondata (by Nayr)

Boyd Hatch:
9.49@157
Boyd Hatch First Full Pass
780hp
Sleeved LsVTEC
Stock cams and valves
Supertech valvetrain
BW S372
Jeff Boyd built Manifold
ebay water to air IC
Stock GSR Trans
Stock Honda Axles
24.5x9 MT's
E85 Tuned with Hondata (by Derrick Rendon)

This was the car's first full pass. we started out with a brand new setup going into getting Stephen his license, so the first few passes were half to moderate. had a few snags in those passes but for the most part it went relatively smooth. decided to throw some power at it and do a full pass and it exceeded everyone's expectations. we gotta sort a little more out of the short track and then throw some money at the drivetrain before throwing some more power at it. seeing as how its a stock trans and stock axles its a bit dangerous to try to shoot for an 8 right now. Last season the best time was 10.3....some changes were made in the car and in the people that work with it....First full pass in the 9.40's, we couldnt be happier. hope to see everyone at some IFO's again this year with this car!

ill post timeslips tomorrow, sorry

In that in car video did he pull on his e-brake to help him stop, that really not a good decision, and a way to stop, but congrats on the pb and good luck this season.

i have been racing my car for 7 years and use the ebrake every single pass im not locking the brakes up just trying to settle the car down before i get on the foot brake... anyway honestly the car hooks up good i just put fresh tires on it and im laying all the power on 2.5 seconds into the pass its on gate pressure till then 14 lbs. about 450 hp. i think i can add the power sooner and turn up first gear a little. i have some pics let me see if i can dig them up

1.94 was the reaction time. that isnt going to affect the ET. we were just testing/licensing so i told him that i want to see the green light on for atleast a full second before he goes lol. just to make sure no mistakes were made due to rushing to catch the light. we can deal with that soon though now that we got the car figured so quickly. the 60' was a 1.61 i think. ill post the timeslips tonight.

but yes that's correct, they are both water to air IC setups.

thanks dude. feels good to have another car make such drastic progress so quickly. hell everyone up here seems to be expecting to go very fast this year. cant wait to see what this one does. they said they want 8's so it sounds like we will be getting some big boy drivetrain parts in there pretty soon so we can be competitive at low 9's and maybe crack off an 8 just to be able to say we did it

ok, out here they post the 60' time like how they posted your reaction time.. Looked like a lazy launch on the Green car. And yea when testing it's a good idea to get a clean pass rather than try to chop a tree.

ef is at 2460lbs we dyno in 3rd so the power reads low its an ls trans i didnt want to go 180 on the rollers.... the suspension kinda sucks its function form type 2 in the rear and non damping tanabe sustec pros in the front. we cut a 1.59 60ft the previous pass on fresh tires. it is a/w out local class doesnt have a rule for it but i will probably change back to air to air so i can do some traveling this year. it also hydro locked at the traps from the head lifting the previous pass so it broke a wrist pin. so it didnt have a chance to catch the boyds car lol. i do have another engine going in this week though so well be back at it at a local race next weekend.

oh and the shifter feels good in the car but i do agree it looks like **** in the vids i have all the proper equipment... weird. i also own a t1/long shifter but i was waiting for a dog box to install it.
