Car theft solutions... got any?
Hey, I'm looking for any tips or suggestions to keep my car from getting stolen. An alarm is in the works, I have a removable steering wheel, I take out my stereo faceplate religiously, and keep my car completely empty, yet it gets broken into once a week! they just jostle all my stuff around and leave my door half open. I'm afraid my precious b-swap will get stolen... so far i've come up with these;
cut my shifter and thread it, then drill a small hole for a padlock so you can't thread anything else on
Round all nuts and bolts on my motor mounts
I know theres other threads on this, but a lot of the other ideas mentioned are easily bypassable, any help would be awesome!!

Get some Kill Switches installed ASAP while waiting on the alarm. The more layers the better. That's not good if they are breaking to your vehicle right now. Perhaps a car cover with a good lock to cover it @ night?
I have kept quiet about this subject until now because I know no matter how I say this there will be someone who will say "If they want it bad enough, they'll get" and for the most part there right. However, I have always had a simple alarm with proximity sensor on every car I have owned, no back up battery, no lo-jack.
I have had several attempts on a few of my civic's but not one them were ever compromised. The only thing I would add now is an alarm with paging keypad like the 5900's or better. Pick your brand DEI owns most of them anyway, but with a paging system and proximity sensor it's very difficult to get past without you(the owner) knowing about it.

I have a .44 magnum, but it doesn't work while I'm sleeping...
The killswitch is going to be included in the alarm install, (I install commercial security alarms, so it will be stealth and secure as a ****) so if you think that will work thats great. and I also got an idea from an old car guy i know. He has a 67 chevelle, and he made a pretty nice kill switch for it. he took a 1/4 thick steel plate and welded a box out of it, then ran 12 wires into and back out of it, one of which being the ignition wire, the rest being grounded with an uncommon fuse hidden elsewhere, so if you attempt to bypass and cross wires, it will blow the fuse. he then put 10 switches in series in a random pattern on the box, then welded it shut and hid it behind the glovebox (it wasn't driven very often, I'd put mine elsewhere). Sound like a winner, or is this old dude crazy?

when i had my DA i would always take my fuel pump relay out and if they ever did get that far as too try to drive away in it they wouldnt be able to start it trust me they r not gonna spend they whole time trying to figure out why the car wont start
a properly install alarm and layers..............6 months ago they tried stealing my baby, 10 years with out a problem............. but my 10 year old clifford and that stupid autolock, oh and a kill switch saved my car.
a decent stealth install alarm, gps system combo with back up batteries. https://www.mobileiqonline.ca/Templa...LoginPage.aspx

You can install a relay on the power wire to the distributor and then either hook it to the alarm or remote switch. If you splice it far enough back you can retain the stock harness and it looks completely stock.
I'll be buying a yellow boot to put on my car. One would suffice, a thief would see that and immediately not want to deal with it. You can even get ones where if they try to drive off with your car, spikes will puncture the tire and they won't get far. That is only if you don't have a fuel pump kill switch OR an alarm. Here is how it would go: they try to break in, alarm goes off, they get in and disable the alarm and now they can't figure out why the car won't start because you've hidden a kill switch somewhere. Well hell, it also has a boot so they'll probably take what they can from the interior and jet, unless you've already got to them with a gun to their head in which case they wouldn't have got that far. BOOT IT!
