Default I want a tachometer!

I can't stand not having a tach, what cluster can I get to change this?

Question, how to I set the odometer from the new cluster to match the engine now?

Yep any cluster 92-95 will plug and play to your car. Assuming you have a 93 hatch.

Can be done but I wouldn't risk it. With the new cluster you can use some pick tools and separate the wheels and spin the middle wheel. I would just get a cluster that's close as possible and remember the difference. For example, my car has 32,000 miles more on it than my crv cluster says.

Buy a cluster with a tach then! And don't bother with the odometer! Just write the mileage you have now on a stickie note and find a good numbered odometer! Exclamation points!!!!!!!

Simply swap the speedometer head from the DX cluster to a VX/LX/EX/Si cluster to retain your mileage.

i think most speedometer shops will reset the odometer to match the current one, as far as I know it's legal to match a replacement just illegal to set it back to decieve someone

Can you separate the speedometer gauge face from the odometer unit without breaking the needle?

If you're careful, but that's not what I'm saying, swap the whole thing, gauge face and all. The speedometer head is the same for all USDM '92 - '95 Civic clusters.

Ah, see I was thinking about 96-00 for some reason

Si/CRV and standard 96-00 civics have different gauge faces.

There's absolutely no reason why you couldn't do it yourself. It's like playing with legos.

dont worry about the miles. The cars old enough that you dont even have to document the miles on the title. My car has over 190k but my cluster says 94k lol. Grab up a cluster from an ex or an si

You're really making this hard. This is easily one of the most straightforward things you can do to your car. There's no way you can mess it up.

OP you've misunderstood. You don't need to remove the needle or do anything tricky. That was my misunderstanding in the model/chassis of the clusters we were talking about.

Just do what 94EG8 said and you will be fine. I have done it quite a few times on cluster swaps. There's really nothing to it at all. You would be more likely IMO to crack the dash bezel getting it out(the one the clock goes into)than to mess up the actual gauge cluster part.

Good luck..and OP..breathe! Stop making things harder than they are..your going to be stressed out and have warts and **** pop up all over your skin. Good luck to you.

Bro. It's REALLY easy. Use a flat head screw driver and pull the plastic tabs up to take the front plastic off. There are 2 or 3 screws behind the cluster that unbolt the speedo assembly from the cluster. then swap to new cluster. The front plastic snaps back on the cluster assembly and BAM, done.

Forgot to mention. If you have a manual and can't find a manual cluster a auto cluster will work. Just remove the gear select light box from the cluster since it's not needed and cut a strip of electrical tape to cover the gear selector strip. Works like a charm. Ask how I know.
