Default Low Idle

my d17 motor is idling at under 200rpms. i want to open the valve for the idle but it looks like there is so many parts to take off. where do i start?

Start simple. Reset the ECU and do the idle relearn.

To reset the ECU, just remove fuse #6 (15 amp) from the fuse box under the hood. Wait at least 30 seconds before reinstalling it. Then do the idle relearn.


Removing the IACV is simple enough. Should just be a couple hoses, a connector, and a handful of screws.

Start by checking out your air filter and cleanliness of your throttle body. Removing and cleaning the IACV is not a big step beyond going that far, 3 bolts i believe.
