Default My next build...uh oh, its a DSM

Well, tryin out another DSM. Ive had a couple back in the day and just got rid of my 700+whp civic that i built. I didnt drop my car off at a shop and pick it up later. i did everything myself with the help from a couple friends. So im gonna apply the same theories and hopefuly it works lol.

Starting of with an early 92 TSi. Picked the car up with a fresh JDM 4G63 in it. Everything was completly stock and pretty clean and worked. So I started the basic DSM yardsale on the engine bay. If it isnt required to make the motor run, its gonna come out. Still doin some but not rushing on it. In the end it will have everything eliminated including P/S, A/C, Cruise, all the emissions crap.

Basic parts ive already installed or have:

ARP's
Quarter Master twin disc
DSMLink V2.5 using ECMLink software
right now evo 560's
Dejon intake pipe
2.5" cat back
RnR Evo ramhorn T/3-44mm
Tial 44 gate
Compact EFI Aeromotive regulator

Future plans:
Precision Billet 6262
3" downpipe to 3.5" exhaust
3" chargepipes
4 bar map
ETS fmic
PTE 1600's
Used A1000 pump
-10 lines
E85
FP4 cams
Evo beehive valve springs

So i think thats pretty much the plan right now. lookin to make a couple 10 second passes on street tires and turn it down to a mid 11 second car. Ill get some pics up ASAP. what do you guys think? ive posted this on dsmtuners, but i get along better with you guys...haha.

How it sits right now:

Good luck with the build. If you're in Spokane, you've got good advice and people close to you at English Racing and ETS. By what you've written it looks like a simple and fun looking build. Good luck finding those FP4's, as they've become a rare item. Look at getting some GSC's or some Kelford's if the FP's aren't obtainable. DSM's can still be fun if built and maintained correctly. Looks like you're on the right track!

Last oct I was sick of FWD and I did the same thing. Went and picked up a 92DSM with a 4 bolt. "nines for five" is what i was shooting for.

I bailed on the project. and picked up an S2000. Its just the small things with the DSM stuff thats annoying!

Good luck should be a beast!

Its sad when i get more feedback and advice on honda-tech about my dsm than i do on dsmtuners lmao...Its why i like this place better.

Yeah, just gonna try and keep it simple. My buddy has a set of FP5's and 4r's and is getting a 1 off gring from FP made jut for his auto car, so i should be able to make a good deal with him on those 4r's.

I had a 90 awd car that i built the motor, went through and did everything on...it never leaked a drop of anything, went mid 12's for a couple of bolt ons at 16psi.

80% of dsm owners try and use the stereotypical method of modding a DSM. Home Depot...if you use the right parts and use accurate knowlege, a DSM can be like a Honda, Or Toyota or any other car thats done right. My honda on its way to making the power it did was down for a great deal of time longer than ANY dsm ive ever owned, this isnt my first. Its not too much to look at now but ill get some pics.

For what its worth the a1000 fuel pump is only good for about 850hp on regular fuel, not sure its gonna be up to par for your setup on ethanol. Twin intanks would be a better route IMO.

Sounds like a build similar to the one I just started as well

Good, when I saw this thread I was thinking to myself, oh no, not another Dsm build where someone's trying to run 10s on an auto with a 16g haha.

I hope to make enough power to spin the tires rather than have it hook. My buddy was doin 10.0's at 140 and all he ever did was demolish 2nd gear until he put slicks on it and then it broke every pass lol. just wanna do a couple 10 second passes and turn it down to a solid 11.5 car.

I have a PTE 6262 on my 2g. Just went 10.3 at 139 yesterday at my local track (Utah). It's an awesome turbo.

The 10.3 is with a Magnus dogbox (still getting used to it so I would assume my times will improve).

I ran a 10.6 last year with a stock 2g tranny.
