Default Cam Seal(?) Oil loss...

So it seams that something on the driver side of the engine was rattling. Friday I got my car in the driveway the engine stopped, turned off the car, saw a trail of oil up the driveway and a lot coming from the driver side of the engine...

Is it possible the engine just stopped and didn't seize since there was still a lot of oil coming out of the engine?

I have had the cam shaft seal come out once before about 3 years ago but the engine didn't cut out.

Humm, where to start.

How about with the year, model and engine. Then if you have a pic of where it is coming from that would help.

Enigne could/should still be good. Can you turn it over by hand-socket and ratchet/breaker bar on crank pulley bolt.

93 Accord LX Sedan

After further investigation it looks like it came from the valve cover and ran down, I also found oil in the spark plug wells so I have a lot of head scratching.

Had noise from driver side. Found harmonic balancer videos that sounded the same as my car.
Oil from valve cover
Car wont start.
Dip stick has oil on it.

Still several ideas....oil in the "tubes" could be shorting the plugs. Replace upper seals (might have to do the lower as well but?).

If the oil is not coming from the timing cover that is good, just trying to figure out how that much oil could be coming from the valve cover.....

Looks like it was oil overfill... Replaced the plugs and wires no more oil is on the new ones...
Major problem now is the car wont start, it cranks and I can see a belt moving from the driver seat but its not firing...
I took off the valve cover to check timing belt and it looked in place and felt tight.
Still no sign of coolant in the oil or visa versa.

Ok, what is missing spark (my guess) or fuel. Have you tried using starting fluid in the TB to see if it would start?
Then check for spark, use one of the old plugs and groud it to see if you have a good blue spark at the plug.....

Just an update... Mechanic took a look and it looks like the water pump gave and timing slipped and took out the valves...
Quote of over $1000 for repairs so unless someone is in my neck of the woods(Waco, Tx) and wants to take on a head swap and timing for less that $1000, Ill be looking for a replacement car...

Ouch...."I took off the valve cover to check timing belt and it looked in place and felt tight."???????........how much for are you selling the car for...oh, nevermind the wife says I have too many as it is.

But anyway, if you are not going to fix it. Post it for sale (don't just junk it), be honest about it. Someone willing to tackle the job on their own can spend ~$500 (3 for a used head, a tb kit and the rest to whatever) and their time an have a decent (?) car for less than a grand.

Thanks for the help poorman...
My wife was against fixing it, but she finally broke down when I was able to find someone who will do the repair for about $200 if I buy the parts. So hopefully shell be up and running by next week...
