Shifter rattle after ES bushing install???
I installed the ES shifter bushing kit this weekend on my gsr with the stock shifter. The install went great. Very easy to do. The problem I'm having now is that above 7000 RPMS my shifter rattles like crazy and makes a buzzing sound. Any idea's what would cause this? I put every back like stock.
The bushing is stiffer so it'll make things rattle. Same concept as installing stiffer motor mounts. The car will rattle. You're fine. If you don't like it switch to new OEM bushings.
Do you think i could have maybe got the bolt to the circle bushing on the tranny side to tight? Or would that not make a different's. I didn't use any grease on the ES bushing either. Not sure if that matters. They seemed to already be pre lubed out of the box with something. And i didn't have a problem pushing the circle bushing in by hand.
Nope it's totally normal. They are not like OEM bushings. My car rattles like hell with them as well. Get used to it or take them out. For daily driving they are a pain but if you track the car enough then that's how it's going to be.
