Default Help! Identify what part this is please.

My family's Accord was hit today and we thought it was only a minor dent in the front bumper. After taking off the bumper, we saw this crack in what looks like a filter of some sort. Can someone please identify this part. Thanks.

Here is what happened originally...

I'm guessing that its a V6, so that's the stock air box that runs to the filter.

If its cracked, it still shouldn't make a difference because the filter is after the box. You probably should still get it replaced or it would be a good time to add a CAI or ram air intake.

Its the resonator box used to lessen the sound of the intake. Should be easy to find one since most people take them out of their cars.

Waste of money. Don't sweat it.

Yeah, I wouldn't worry about it at all.

Sorry to not have included this, but it is a 2002 V6. Is it a resonator box or a air box? Also, does anyone have any instructions to remove it. Any help is appreciated. Thanks for your replies.

If I just leave it cracked, will anything happen? I already fixed the dent in bumper, and am not sure wheter or not to take out the resonator, get a new one, or leave it like that. I probably want to leave it like that and wanna know if its ok to just leave it dented and cracked.

leave it: nothing will happen, you'll be just as you were before
take it out: maybe 1 hp and more noise from the intake
replace it: waste of your money, and i would laugh at you
