I had an f1 stage 3 clutch in my d16z6 a long time ago. I broke the clutch in like you are supposed to, after the break in I got on it and it slipped really bad. I ended up selling it for less than $20 just to get rid of it.
If you have something with torque I would never use one, it might be a waste of time. It could have been a bad clutch/pressure plate but I would not use one again, you get what you pay for IMO.

So you want feedback on the clutches while you tell us that you have no money for anything better? Why bother asking then? It's funny how people never have enough money to do something once properly but always seem to come up with enough money when they have to do it twice because of using cheap parts. If you don't want to wait until you can afford a decent clutch, buy what you can afford now and lower your expectations and prepare to do it again in the near future.

All my friends went the cheap way and bought those XTD, XTR, XT-whatever. I spent the extra $100 bought an EXEDY stg 1. Double what they paid for theirs. Guess who is still running? I am of course with my EXEDY. It still grabs like the first day I installed it after the break-in. The XTD, XTR XT-whatever either started to slip, exploded, warp, clack clak....They are cheap, and there is a reason for them to be cheap....

Holy crap. Never saw this happen. What stage? And how do you kill a clutch before its breakin period is through? Exedy supplies every japanase automaker with their oem clutches. I think they supply ACT as well.
Yeah cuz that was obviously the products fault...
Make a dumb thread, wanting something for nothing, don't like the replies so the people are therfor "haters." Highschool??

It takes a lot of talent to do something like that. Now you call us all haters because we aren't telling you what you want to hear.
Mods, can we relocate this useless thread to the gdd? The OP will get nothing but morons telling him what he wants to hear there.
For what it's worth a good friend of mine has been running an XTD 6 puck clutch in her GS-R swapped hatch for the last 3 or 4 years, it's daily driven/abused all spring/summer/fall, stored for the winter and occasionally taken to the track. It hasn't slipped yet. She just boosted it and had it tuned on the weekend so we'll see how it holds up to 320hp and 247 ft lbs of torque. I also pulled apart a D-series XTD 6 puck that was less than a year old and it was worn down to the rivets, unknown mileage though, I do know it was driven hard.
