I put the Integra gauges in my 1989 civic. just got the vss wired up. Before 20 minutes ago when I wired up the vss, I had no check engine light even when the key was first turned. Now the CEL blinks when I turn the key, and when I start the car the CEL blinks rapidly (only when car is in gear) and doesnt stop.

 

recheck your wiring, sounds like the cel is wired with the rpm signal.

does the cel blink slow at idle? and when you start reving it or driving it, it starts to blink faster and faster?

 

its probably throwing code 17...which is the vss.
