Default need help... my Brake Lamp indicator is lit and I have no idea what the problem could be

whats up guys, I seem to have stumbled upon this problem a few days ago. while i'm warming up my car, as soon as I depress the brake to shift into gear the Brake Lamp light comes on. now i've checked all the bulbs and they arent blown, and I also checked the fluid levels, they are fine as well. what could possible be the problem? 92 Prelude Si auto

Mine used to do that all the time. Got my swap done (H22A) and the problem never came up again. Must of been the ECU in my case.

Usually a bad bulb or socket. Get someone to step on the brake and make sure all the bulbs are burning bright. Don't forget about the third.

Have you checked the brake light failure sensor?

When the Brake Lamp indicator is on, doesn't that mean the Emergency/Parking brake is activated? Is your Emergency/Parking brake lever all the way down?

Have you checked your brake fluid level or your brake pad thickness. I had my brake light come on and it was because my pads were worn. I think this is might only apply to the 5th gen though.

No, that's the brake light. The brake lamp light is totally different.

I thought this was only my lude. This has happened before and after my swap, but the wierd thing is that I can just turn my car off and it doesn't come back on the next time I start it...

I have the same problem with my 2000 Integra LS.

The brake light in the dash comes on while the engine warms up (driving).

Sometimes by hitting the brakes it will go away. It will turn back on a few seconds later though (until the engine reaches operating tempurature).

I have test3d and verified that the parking brake switch is functioning properly.
I have also verified and (slightly) overfilled my brake fluid with (dealer purchased) honda DOT3 brake fluid.
My pads I have not checked, but I do have new ones. Maybe that will fix it.

I'm stumped. Good Luck.
