Default messing with Omni Drags

How are the rears of omni drags valved? I feel like its way to stiff on the launch and we have a set of 2 500lb hyper coils laying around...how would those do on the launch...would it squat a **** load or is the valving able to hold up? Just curious. Put them in front maybe? lol. Im sure i may just need to play around one day at the track with them.

Are they not like 1000lb springs out back?

Ya exactly the problem. It works but it's not the ideal config. Nothing moves with fluidity.

What would be a better option? I have some omni drags myself, I don't really know much about suspensions or setting up the car to launch correctly.

shaft speed, not car speed.

there isnt over a 1k lbs in weight transfer in a any fwd. except profwd. but that is on a wheelie bar.

we run 800lbs in the rear and going even softer this year.

spring rates and shocks go hand in hand. valving in your dampers is whats most important. and its safe to say omnis dont have that option.

strange, d2, penske, moton is the only suspension mfg i think is even worth considering from what ive seen

I dont know much about susp. but I have Omni street versions that I ran for a while and then went with 1000lb rears. I never noticed a difference no matter what spring /shock combo I had ONLY thing that made a difference is power mangiment.
This junk doesnt seem to do to bad.....

I agree with Parks, but remember one thing, Tony went 8's on omni drags.. Then again, that doesnt surprise me.

we actually just did some legitimate before and after testing with Blox Drag Coilovers on our all motor car

here is the information i put up yesterday - http://www.ipgparts.net/blog/product...world-testing/

yes, there is always something better (usually more expensive) but the Blox and Omni Drag Coilovers are great bang for the buck in my book

very true james, my reasoning was behind the 1000k spring rates. spring rates and valving go hand in hand. i just think having the company that sells suspension would know 1k is a joke.

too stiff of springs is a band aid for not having the right valving. A last ditch effort at best. But I'm sure they work ok in certain situations. It takes a lot more time to get valving dialed in vs. changing spring rates. Probably why some manufactures offer stiffer springs vs. slower valving.

So far I really like the Blox Drags that I got from IPG. Car seems to launch much harder and feels flat and solid... Should be hitting the track soon to do some real testing
