Default How to improve my B16 setup? (Header and IM)

Hi guys, first off all I want to apologize for my English.

Currently I´ve this setup in a 93 EG6:

81.5mm x 77.4mm (B16A2)

Wiseco pistons 13.0:1
Eagle rods
Skunk2 Pro2 cams
Buddy Club cam gears
44mm home made ITBs.
Tri-y Header big tube (Ebay).
ID 1000cc injectors (yes, too big, but I´m planning to run Methanol)
Complete valve train.
No port and polish.
Tuned on Crome.

I wanna know what can I do to improve this. I was wondering about the ITBs and header.

Some friends told me to change the ITBS for a nice intake manifold like a ITR with PNP and a bigger throttle body. Sounds good?

I really like the ITBs, but I´m looking for best performance.

About the header, I´m looking for one that have GOOD ground clearance and, obviously make great power.

Nowadays I run AC and power steering, but I don´t care to take it off.

I just create this thread because most off all here are about 1.8 and 2.0L.

Thank you in advance.

It would help if we knew what your intended use for the car is. It looks like it's set up for racing only but if it's a street/strip car with daily driving in mind, I don't think the current part selection is the best combination for that. Give us some more information.

If you're just planning to use the car for racing it looks pretty good (and I would try out the ITBs with velocity stacks before switching to a manifold). If you do want to switch to an intake manifold you'll probably want something better than a ported type-r one for that manifold. Then you'll want a 68mm or greater throttlebody and 3" diameter intake piping. Then tune the length of it on the dyno to figure out what your motor likes best. Obviously bigger ITBs would be ideal, but thats neither cheap nor convenient.

If you're planning this as a street vehicle the Pro2s probably wouldn't be my first choice.

If the collector is of decent size on the hytech replica I'd go ahead and use it too (since you already have it). If you're not happy with the results after the fact, sell it and try something a little pricier.

I'm a big fan of working with what I already have. Good luck.

This is a car to have fun, essentially on street. It isn´t my daily car.

I´m going to race some events, but nothing serious.

If possible I don´t want to change internals and cams. I just want to change my header (I really don´t like this) and IM if I make more power without ITBs.

I like to think as a "Extreme Street Car" (but I don´t know if is the right denomination).

I personally feel that the pro 2's are too big for your build and wouldn't have gone larger than pro 1's. ITB's can work really well if you get them sized right and have someone who can tune them well. I like manifolds because of their simplicity and an ITR style would work well on your build and be easier to tune. Headerwise, I'd try to find an original Toda header and run that or at the very least, the Toda Replica that's available from spoolin performance I believe. It'll make good power, has decent ground clearance and will allow you to run AC and PS.

Toda header would be perfect for that setup, I've seen them on 180+hp civics, custom built header would be even better prolly around the same price 1000$ish

I don't care about PS and AC, is V2 replica a good option?

I found TODA replica for US$500 and V2 for R$350...

I'm not sure what the V2 header is or looks like, so I can't recommend it. The Real Toda is ideal, replica if you don't have any other choice.

That "V2" isn't a Toda Replica, it's a copy of a Bisimoto header which is intended for 1.8-2L motors so it'll hang lower on your block and be more prone to hitting things. The Toda design is proven on B16's, I haven't see this V2 compared to anything else yet.

I'm looking another's headers than TODA, TODA is very expensive...

UPDATE: TODA replica was bought on Spoolin...

Much later...

Unfortunately I crashed my car, bought another, nothing special.

New intake (Skunk2 Pro + Sk2 68mm) and Toda Replica (Spoolin) were installed. The car was tunned and a Dyno run was made.

I don´t belive in the numbers, but I´ll leave the movie.

I want to run a Dynojet, just to see the real power of this setup.
