Default BRAKE JOB

JUST REPLACED FRONT AND REAR ROTARS/PADS ON AN 08 RIDGLINE 115000K. QUESTION IS REAR ROTORS HAD ONE SCREW HOLDING ROTOR IN PLACE, MANAGED ONE SIDE BUT OTHER SIDE HAD TO DRILL OUT.
1. HOW IMPORTANT IS THAT ONE SCREW ON EACH SIDE
FRONT ROTORS HAD 2 SCREWS AND HAD TO DRILL OUT THE 2 ON BOTH SIDES.
2. HOW IMPORTANT ARE THOSE 2 SCREWS PER SIDE.
TEST DROVE TRUCK AND BRAKES ARE WORKING FINE.
AM I OK OR ARE THESE POSITIONING SCREWS IMPORTANT.
THANKS.

Those are very mportant I would replace them before you drive anymore especially on the freeway (High speed vibration)

There are two main ways rotors are held on
1) The rotor is held in place with the caliper and held on with the rim bolted on (no screws holding rotor on)

2) Most Hondas and Acuras have 1-2 screws holding the rotor on.. They are still held on by the rim and caliber but have the screw to hold it tight

I am not sure why it is designed like that but I will check and get bak to you soon

They're there so that the rotor won't wiggle with the wheel off and it lets honda throw the rotors on earlier in assembly without putting the caliper etc on all at the same stage. On Civics/Integras anyways they do absolutely nothing. If your wheels and brake components are installed/torqued properly, the rotor isn't going to move. It's sandwiched between the wheel and the hub plus held in place by the caliper/bracket. (In my opinion, one or two little screws wouldn't have much effect with the forces applied there anyways under braking anyways). If it drives fine and there is no vibration/noise I wouldn't worry too much.

They're not important. I always try to replace them just so the rotor isn't flopping around while servicing the brakes, but they definitely aren't needed.
