Default HELP, problems with lug nuts

Heres the story, I dropped of my car at the acura dealership to get the 30,000 mile checkup( i know i should do it mysef) and a day later they call me and tell me that they cant get the lugnuts off the wheels and that they have been torqued to twice the regular amount. The wheels have never been taken off since ive had the car so it must have been the previous owner who tighted the lugnuts. So now what do i do? I know that lug nuts are cheap but im afraid of breaking off the stud that the nut attaches too. How do i get the nuts of without breaking anything? what could go wrong when they try to take them off, cuz im fully responsible for any damage according to them? Should i contact the previous owner and what should i say??
thanks
Nick

Just soak the lug nut area with liquid wrench or a similar product. Then go get a huge breaker bar with the right socket (preferable at least 1/2" drive and 3+' long) and slowly apply torque to each of the nuts. If you feel as if they will break and you don't care too much about the finish around the hub of your rims, then get a hand-held torch and heat up the junction between the stud and the nut. Try again.

If they break, they break. It's as simple as that. You will have to get the wheel off sooner or later. Now would be a good time to change those wheel studs of they broke.

Good luck!

the torque spec is around 80ft/lbs if its twice that much its ~160ft/lbs, most air guns on the market should be able to take that off with no problems, my air gun has 600ft/lbs of reverse torque, its really odd that they cant find something to get them off.. i'd say try a bigger gun then, maybe a 3/4" drive
