Default APEX Power FC....

Can I use the APEX Power FC with my 00Si. I didnt see it on the applications list for APEX but they did have the EX?? On another note do you think this route would be a better way to go over HONDATA?

firstly I'm not too familiar with US models. If howerver your car is a EK4,
You will have to use the EK9 version of Power FC, unfortunately this only comes in OBD2.1 socket. your car may come with a OBD2.2 in that case you will need the OBD2.2 to OBD2.1 harness kits.

I have never used a Hondata kit, so therefore cannot comment on that.

However I use to run a Power FC with the above setup. and it is a real nightmare setting it up with the commander.

Does anybody know where I can get my grubby hands on the Power Excel software and cable? Any advise appreciated.

Was that a direct replacement for the Factory ECU, or would I need to get an OBD I
ECU and wiring harness, or just the Wiring Harness to plug in the POWER FC?

Power XL are only release to tuners in Japan and I never heard any ppl have them in North America. I agreed the Power FC is a bitch to tune Maybe you can get somebody to write you a ECU program to fit your application.

The Power Excel software is supposedly now available in english. For comprehensive help with the Power FC, contact Apexi USA or one of the authorized Power Excel shops.

Not heard that . . .

the Datalogit company has released FC edit and their hardware interface for hondas. It works well and is very nice.

As for contacting Apex . . . Tried that once, they didn't know anything about the power FC. They just told me to call a power excel dealer. They are nice people and answer product questions well but don't dare ask them a technical question about the power FC. They have one person that sort of knows about the powerFC. Same goes for the power Excel shops. I spoke to 3 of the 5 or so in the US and only one (In Sacramento guy named Henry) knew what he was talking about.

I have found some users on this board know more than any shop in the US.

sometimes you need to dig to get what you want. May i suggest contacting Toshi Hayama by name @ Apexi and explain the lack of service from Apexi, then ask him your tech questions... In regards to the tuning software to cater to the US market, the final version will be available by april 2002.

as far as the datalogit offerings, there is a lockout on the new versions of the fc to prevent datalogit use. Where is their tuning interfce offered? I looked on th website and could jsut find info on the data loggin stuff...

A lockout? WHere did you hear this? THere are only a few FC versions available and to this point Datalogit works with allof them including the most recent v 4.10 (WHich is what I ahve with the datalogit working).

I will be interetsde to see what Apex releases. Is the person you mentioned at Apex in Japan or in the US? I had 2 people at Apex US specifically say that there was only 1 person that kind of knew how to use it and that wasn't his name.

I thi in the US? I have called there several times. And I didn't say they didn't know anythging I said they didn't know anything about the power FC. I got advice on a VAFC once but it isn't near the contraction.

WHo is Toshi. I once said who there could answer some simple Power FC questions and they said he isn't here to day and his name was not Toshi. THey said no one else knew the power FC.

I assume you guys were asking Toshi power FC questions?

Toshi Hayama is responsible for apexi having a US branch. he will get to the bottom of your fc questions. he is a tech and business wiz and is in fact @ their Orance, CA location. Trust me, the new versions of the fc and some of the latest versions will have a lockout to prevent datalogit integration. dont hesitate to call him and get your queries answered!!!
