What I do know is that it is not a direct bolt in. First off it is intended for right hand drive and second is that it is 100% electric, no cables. I believe the heater box assembly needs to be sap out w/ another but then there falls the problem of being for right hand drive. I am not saying it can't be done but it does involve alot of work. good luck

K you'll need 3 things. Just get them from a CRX since it's all there. All you'll need is the Climate Control, the Main Wire Harness under the dash and the Heater Core from a CRX and that's all you'll need. make sure you take it from a matching year CRX though. If you're Civic is 88-89 then take the guts from a 89 CRX Si and the same for 90-91 cuz the wire harnesses aren't the same.

What did you do about the outside temperature sensor? How did you fit a right hand drive heater core into a left hand drive car? Where did you hook up the teperature hoses to? Do you have pictures of how you put the right hand drive harness into a left hand drive chassis? Sorry for all the questions but these are most of the problems you encounter trying to do this install. I installed a crx climate control in my civic, that wasn't that hard but had to have a friend with a wrecked crx donate all the motors and wiring to me. Japanese automatic climate control is something I wanted to do so if you have any pictures of your install, please post them. Thanks

i think he was thinking of the stock heater controller... for a rex not the JDM... i saw the jdm one last night adn it donest matter if it is RDH or LDH... it has the same mounting holes and the stock one... 2 holes on the left of it and one on the right of it

Yes, the actual control fits right in. If you want to change a HB climate control to a CRX you need more than just a harness. You really don't even need the whole harness. But, you need to get the small actuator on the fan and the actuator on the heater core and swap them to your Civic. Add the parts of the harness that plug into the actuators and climate control, give it some power and you have it. That is what I did. The Japanese auto-climate control has another actuator to control the temperature. Automatic temperature control is the main difference.
Has anyone succesfully done this swap?

Well if anyone plans to attempt it , I have an outside temp sensor (from the JDM front end that I purchased).

I have a 89 CRX Si dash in my 89 Civic Si HB and all I used was the wire harness, heater core and climate control off of it and voila done. I did this cuz it looks JDM with the climate control and is better using the CRX dash cuz it bolts right in and is slanted and looks even better than doing the Teg center console or SiR center console which I had in there B4 this one.

so how do you control the fresh/recirc air? or did you just disconnect it? do you have any pictures? so you just used a crx dash with the matching climate control? how does that "look jdm"? it just looks like a normal crx right?
