Default manual trans adjustment?

I have a 04 LX manual (1.7L). I am having trouble getting the trans into reverse and sometimes it "pops" out while in motion. Is there a way to adjust this?

Have you checked your transmission fluid level? Sometimes when it's low the car will pop out of gear. (so I've heard)

The cables can't be adjusted.

Go to a GM dealership and get "Synchromesh" manual transmission fluid.... I am not joking here... get the GM fluid.

Go to your shift linkage where it means the transmission. Pull the cotter pins and gently disassemble the bushings there, clean and re grease them. Have a buddy shift between gears and watch the action of the shift linkage. Your issue could also be related to the clutch although less likely if you are only have trouble with reverse. The shift cables can stretch out somewhat or become corroded.

I would not advise using GM Synchromesh. I've used it in the past, and had my 1st and 2nd gear syncros actually go out. Also, I noticed a much harsher engagement, with the GM fluid. I've had absolutely no issues running OEM fluid, as long as it's maintained at regular intervals.

Did you have issues prior to using the GM?
I had some issues with second gear synchro before switch to synchromesh. Went from OEM honda to GM and had positive result right away. No gear clash since... only been about 1000 km so far tho. Seemed to smooth out shifts and engagement for me personally?

Why would he use non Honda fluid if it was working fine? I used synchromesh, because I had problems before I put it in, gear changes got worse. It's American, what should I expect?

I'm shocked, I went with the synchromesh after reading TONS of good reviews on this very forum.... not one person said there was any downsides to it.

I've read those as well. It's why I tried it. After I flushed and filled with synchromesh the trans starting clicking while turning right in second gear, which is a known problem for our cars. It was designed and made for trucks. Not a Honda.
