i have a ls/vtec with a type r head.has vtec controller..idle surges for ~4sec(when start) then it is stuck around 1k rpm when warmed..iacv was cleaned,throttle screw is closed,fast idle valve was turn all the way, timing is lined up..when the tps was unplug, idle came down to ~700 but bogs??..im in 5th gear doing 40mph n rpm is ~2200 and ~2500 at 50mph..any help would be great.thanks

 

so if you let go of the clutch in first it wont die?

 

no it doesnt die..rpm is stuck at 1k..

if nothing works try to find a friend that can let you use his iacv, ecu, throttle body and see if it will still do it with those exchanged.

 

sometimes it might be a bad gasket or bolts that are not tight enough. It's aggravating as hell trying to figure it out when youve tried almost everything.
