Is this an OEM paint color?
Looking at cars and ran across this one. It's a 96 and it's an odd purple color that intrigues me and I hate at the same time. I looked up the paint codes, but didn't see any that match. It's a complete color coat including places that people wouldn't normally paint on a respray. I found a color code on the 97's called "Bordeaux Red Pearl Clearcoat R-78P". However I can't find any pictures of it on a Civic. I did find it on a Lotus and it looks like a match. Can anyone confirm?

running it through photoshop they do have lots of tones similar and just by the eye it looks the same to me. cant say if I love it or hate it either.
I turned up the same info, it seems like it only was used in 97, on civics, accords and odysseys.. and that makes it strange that its on a 96

Since you're listed as being in Alabama, I'd guess you're looking at USDM Civics.
No, that is NOT a USDM Civic color. The candidates would be (for red or reddish paint on a US Civic coupe) Milano Red (bright red) or Island Coral Pearl (kind of a light salmon maroon color. It is clearly neither.
I'm going with "aftermarket paint job". Fairly common to see on a 12-14 year old Honda.
The color code is in the driver door jamb btw, if it's a stock color.

Also, just because two cars have the same NAME given to a color does not mean they're the same color. The Lotus color code is B95, while the Honda color code is R-78P.
This is Honda's Bordeaux Red Pearl. The Civic models it came on are likely EDM five doors. It was not a US '96-'00 Civic color.

I knew it wasn't either Milano or Coral, I've seen both of those and they are completely different. I just used the lotus as an example as it came up in the google search and was very close. I had never seen a Bordeaux Civic, and seeing as how you state it isn't a US color I now know why.
It's just an odd color for me. Depending on the price I could be rocking this hideous beauty soon. Thanks again NOFX.
