Default Power Steering removal

Alright, i've had my PS belt off for a while now and I think its about time to take the rest of the PS stuff off. Where is a good place to find a writeup on this, if anywhere? If there's nowhere to find an article or something, what sort of setup should I go with? I've heard breather valves, loop-back systems, etc. Reccomendations?

I've still a little skeptical on the benefits of the "breather". I'm not using one and don't notice any problems.

:uh: I Kne wi shoulda searched.

Anyway, looks lke you have to take some crap apart, if not drop the engine to do this..... I don't know if its worth THAT much to me. Am i correct in my assumption? (BTW, i'm talking abotu JUST looping the hose)

I already had my engine out. Seems like it could be hard without pulling it, but don't know for sure.

It is not that hard to do if you are mechanically inclined to pull out the system WITH the motor in the car. A buddy of mine helped me do it and we took it all out, looped the lines, and installed the breather as the RealTime ITR's have and it is working fine. This was all done over a period of about 2 weeks. T'ing into the metal line that feeds the rack is kind of tricky (there are a number of ways to do it). Steering is easier with the breather system on it as opposed to looping the lines only. Hope this helps!

It's no big deal, with or without the engine in.

Jason-
who looped his rack , and is not using a breather...

I've had mine looped for over three years now. No breather. About once a year I flush the fulid in the rack.

I unhook one end of loop and hook up a pump like the one used to fill trans fluid. Pump in clean fluid until it comes out clean on the other side. Little messy.
