Default Side Moldings and Rubber Trims

In the 94 LX accords, the side modling and rubber trim along the bottom is black and contrasts heavily with my car's color......does anyone know how to paint these things efficiently and cheaply because it occured to me that painting them would look decent and it almost looks slightly like a side skirt, until i put on my new kit....get back at me.

thats what i thought......apparantly there is a process of removing the agent that makes them shed paint and repainting them with a lasting coat......i know of a person who did it that i met at a show once, but i didnt catch his name and i cant get in touch with him.....but i know that there is an alternative to purchasing new ones

Actually, the rubber is paintable, IF you go to a really good body shop.
The shop I go to painted my 97 civic hatch championship white including all the plastic moldings and gave me a 5 year warranty on everything.

On a side note, did you ever take off your side moldings? are there holes underneath the moldings?
Let me know, thanks

the only thing is, how much does a good well reputable independent body shop charge you?

I actually stoped by the body shop and they are going to charge me $300 to paint the side moldings, the sideskirts, the front bumper skirt and the rear bumper skirt, and to clean off some paint on the side of the car (previous owner ran over paint) and to clean off the glue from the accord lx emblem. Additional $50 to take off the pinstripe that i hate so much.
But i think i can lower it down some more, i talked to the son of the owner. The owner usually gives me better prices.
All 5year warranty btw. if anything happens they repaint for free.
So try and hook up with a good reputable body shop. The one i go to do mostly insurance claims and maybe 1 or 2 ricers. But you can tell the quality of their work when you look at the kind of cars in the shop and what they are doing to it.
ask the owner to give you a tour of the facility. Most are wiling to do that.
I even saw a worker brushing in the integra print on an integra bumper with a small brush. Now thats paying attention to the details.

nono-- i'm saying go find a good body shop around your area.

=-=the holes =-= well if there wasnt any holes, then i would just take the moldings completely off.
i dont think i mention anything about removing side skirts.
also, you can buy ex color match side moldings from the dealer.
they are injected with paint instead of being painted, might be a little costly.

btw, what kind of stereo install kit u guys using? i tried 3 different ones and they all stick out too much, i would like to hvae my stereo flush with the pocket.

i ran an 8-gauge nicely from my battery to my trunk hiding the wire passing thru the firewall under the center console, to the side paneline and then to the trunk.....if your concerned with concealing it, which is what i got from your post, its really quite simple....
