first let me say hi im new to this forum. just looking for some opinions on how much you guys might think this car is worth?

05 civic si-pretty good shape
25k miles
kbb's at 14k.

i understand the car is in good shape from what i see but what is a car with a salvaged title really worth? about as much as someones willing to pay for it right? so if i offered the guy 7k. and planned on being able to sell it down the road for maybe 6k you think i could get 6k out of it beings its a salvaged title? http://portland.craigslist.org/clc/cto/2316129361.html i like the car. id like to buy it if it really doesnt have any big problems. im only looking for a sporty ride that good on gas and this little thing fits the bill

 

why was it listed as salvage? That would make a big difference to me

 

if you click on the ad and read the bit of info it states it was because of theft. other than the info given in his description thats all i know? it looks fine but looks can be deceiving i know.

 

oh and to the guy that moved my thread, i see why now. the section i put it in said honda civic 01-05 so i figured it would be the right one. i didn't see the ep3 part in this acura forum. my bad yo

 

idk i mean i can always ask the guy whats the lowest he'd go. but im not trying to **** him off. im just trying to look out for myself. when buying a salvage car its best not to pay much for it in the first place because chances r youl only be able to get what someone will pay for it anyway. the whole salvage title thing is lame. i could pay this dude 7-8k and i may not be able to get rid of it for even 6 one day lol.

so idk its a toss up in my eyes i just figured since you guys talk hondas all day maybe you'd be able to give me an idea of what i might be getting into.

 

well a theft issue isn't as bad as smashing into something and then someone cheaply fixing it

 

thats one clean EP3 just make sure you check the carfax thats the key if its just theft thats fine but make sure everything is good, if you can go around, under, top to check everything and then engine too

fur-sheezy on the carfax. i just dont want to offend the guy by offering him 7-8 grand? im just trying not to buy a rig for 8 then only be able to sell it a year or two down the road for 5 ya know?

 

idk its like i want his car but all im going to be able to come up with is 7-8k. ill just ask him if he's had any offers on it and see what hes been offered already to see if im gonna be waisting his time
