Default b20b build questions.

so here it goes i have a 97 integra ls with a jdm b20b. Right now the only things done are dc sport headers, stock cat, custom 2.5in catback with 3in resonater, and ebay intake. its not much for now pretty much stuff i had laying around. i would like to build it all motor but non vtec. and was just wondering where a good place to start was. also it will be doing an obd1 conversion this week at some point. thanks

Let me ask you this, do you still have your LS transmission? If you do then I would look into at least getting a GS-R transmission. Why I say this is you would get better gearing for acceleration then the LS transmission. I had a B20 build and used a B16 transmission and loved it.

I would start by bumping the compression up, selecting a cam, sourcing a B16/ITR trans and investing in a better header and a tune.

tune, tranny, better header, better intake manifold, better cam, in that order. compression will make the least difference unless you plan on really raising it, to say past 11:1

actually a good, cheap upgrade is a b18b intake cam. noticeable difference as the b18b profile is more "sporty" and it has like .025" more lift or so

lastly arp rod bolts if you plan on spinning to 7k or further. i went 7.5k on stock bottom end + rod bolts and had zero issues just changed them 1 at a time without bumping the rod caps.
