Default Dx auto tranny on a D16y8?

Hey whats up? I'm new to this board. I was wondering about a swap im gonna do soon. i have a 96 civic dx auto and just bought a 96 civic ex motor a few weeks ago that had a 5sp on it originally. The motor didnt come with the tranny and i was wondering if i should use the stock dx auto tranny and bolt it up to the d16y8 or should i try to look for an auto ex tranny. Is there a big difference between the two trannys? So far the swap is gonna sonsist of a 96 civic ex motor, a 97 civic ex auto ecu and 97 civic ex auto wiring harness. I know i should go with a full trans swap but i just dont have the cash for it. Any advice would be great thanks.

wait for the tranny...its not that much more to get one......and also not worth the time/money to put your y8 to a auto tranny. And its probably too much work at that.
