Soft Breaks?!?!?!
88 hatchback, the break pads are about 3-4 months old, maybe 2 months ago I topped off the break fluid, and has been fine since. My breaks have been getting softer & softer for little over a month.
My new commute is now little over an hour and in the big city...so I need some breaks. Im not really in the mood to smack a 50,000 Jaguar!!!

I have a 97 ek and after I changed my drums I had the same Problem. If you haven't done a rear brake conversions to discs then I hope you're ready to get your hands dirty again.
Put the back of you car up on some jack stands and take the rear tires off. remove the drums and check the adjustment with the little star wheel. The drum should be kind of tough to get back on once it's adjusted properly. To make sure it's not to tight pull up on your ebrake a couple times and then check it for tightness. When you pull the ebrake it centres the drum on the pads. It should spin freely but with some resistance. Make sure you press on the drum as you try and spin it since the tire would normally be bolted against the drum.
If you've got some time on your hands you could take the whole assembly apart. Unscrew the star wheel and put some antisieze on the screw and when you put it back together make sure the adjuster on the star wheel isn't too bent out of shape.
Your brakes should self adjust to an extent. Everyone seems to have a different oppinion on how they adjust. A mechanic told me that if you get up to about 20-30mph and then lock up the brakes it'll help tighten up the brakes. Supposidly it helps get any air out because of the abs or something. I'm not sure if that makes sense or not.
Anyways I hope that helps a bit.

When you push the brake down does it feel like your loosing preaure.. Like does ythe peddle slowly go to the ground? Or it doesnt feel like its not grabbing like it should?
Could be the pads your using?
Could be a slow leak in the fluid container or in the line somewhere (re-check your fluid level)
Not sure if you opened up the system (bleed the brakes properly)
