what exactly do you need to know about the CTR? please be more specific. do want to know about its engine? performance specs? interior? chasis dimensions? what? if you narrow it down then perhaps someone here can help you out.

You have an EK you want to turn into a CTR replica?
He probably means that. He said he had the engine mods covered.

I think I'll chime in here, and I'm sure I'll miss a bunch, but here it goes.

CTR Exterior Differences:

-CTR Headlights
-CTR Grill (Very similar to Si, but not exactly the same)
-CTR Front Lower Lip (many debate it is the same as the Si) I couldn't justify the price of buying a CTR lip over an Si when they look almost identical
-CTR Side Mouldings (lighter/thinner than USDM EJ - Again a waste of money just for the "JDM" factor)
-CTR Rear lower lip (Lynx who likes this one though)
-CTR Wing
-CTR Red Honda Emblems
-CTR Wheels/5 lug hub, brakes, rotors, arms, etc.
-Exclusive CTR Paint schemes not avail on USDM EJs

Interior
-Right Hand drive
-Black interior dash,door, interior panels not avail on USDM EJs
-Recaro Seats
-Black shift boot stitched red
-Black rear seats stitched red
-Door panels have red fabric
-Red carpet
-CTR floormats
-CTR Momo steering wheel (Lynx who likes this tooo)
-CTR climate control

Sheeeat, I'm fresh out of ideas now, but I am sure I missed a few here & there.

A word to the wise here. Try not to get to caught up in making a replica CTR by piecing it together. Well, you can if you want. Afterall, it's your car. Buy the parts you really like and not just because they are "JDM CTR parts"

Fact is.... Some parts are not going to work in a USDM EJ like the black dashboard, unless you buy a CTR EK firewall and weld it in there. When all is said and done, you still have a CTR REPLICA. A replica is not bad, because it shows a great dedication and a lot of hard work, but it is not cost effective in my mind.

In the end, even with ever last detail taken care of, you'll have spent enough money just to import a used one over here.

Even though this is all MY opinion, you can do whatever you damn well want to YOUR car. Don't let people influence what you do to YOUR car. You're the one who has to drive it, not someone else. Hmmm, Lynx who now questions why he wrote the first three paragraphs now

I want to know something also about the EK series also.

I notice the Vin# are xxxEJxxxxxxx for all 96-2000 Civics
So where did this EK chasis code came from?

Also, how many EK#'s are there. I know there are EK6, EK9...which year is which?
What are the differences interms of body structures.

Which is the best to do a B18C5 swap?

99-00 Civic Si = EM1 chassis code

So where did this EK chasis code came from?
This is the chassis code for these cars in Japan only. i.e. EG = Japan, EH2 = USDM hatch etc etc...

Also, how many EK#'s are there. I know there are EK6, EK9...which year is which?
EK9 = Civic Type R and I think EK4 = Civic SiR but not 100% on the EK4

Which is the best to do a B18C5 swap?
All of them. They will all accept b-series swap so if you got the $$$

Informative post, never noticed that EK9's have black interiors as opposed to the USDM Gray.

the german ek hatches have a black dash, and in left hand drive... just a thought for someone who doesnt wanna do a rhd conversion. dash swaps are easy, especially if its the same dash going in the car

Breakdown of JDM chassis codes for 95-2000.

EK9 = CTR

EK5 = RTi Sedan

EK4 = SiR Hatch and JDM Si Sedan(Ferio) models. Also includes SiR II and Si II.

EK3 = VTI Hatch, Vi Sedan, Mi/ML Sedan, and Ri Hatch models

EK2 = EL models Hatch/Sedan

Sorry to post back so late.

So let say, I am buying a USDM model. Which one would be a EK4?

What are some of the major differences between the USDM EM1 chasis and th EJ chasis?

Why is everyone prefering the hatch over the coupe?
